How to Go Out on a Date in Queens
Author(s):
Richard Vetere
Thirty-something Artie has not been out with a woman since his wife died. His friend Stan lives at home with his mother, dates three times a week and knows all the rules. Stan sets up a blind date for Artie and proceeds to tell him all the new do's and donOts of dating. Artie is petrified. They "double." Stan is smooth--Artie does everything wrong, including the unthinkable--he's sincere! While the date is a disaster, Artie connects with their waitress. Through their conversation Artie realizes that what he had with his wife was wonderful and, even though short-lived, more than most people get in their lives. He learns to gain strength from his marriage, to cherish the memories and to go on with his life. Unit set.
